I was thinking of Jason and the story of the golden fleece, because in a certain light he (while otherwise completely white) would show a golden undertone down his spine. But for some reason I mixed Jason up with Ajax, one of the warriors from the Illiad.

Either way, the name suited him. My wife reluctantly went along with the name, thinking it was a reference to the cleaning product of days gone by (which would have been ironic since he loved rolling in grass, dirt and even goose poop should the opportunity present itself).
